On July 16th, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Nam Hung, deputy head of the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Tien Giang Provincial Police, announced that the unit had successfully dismantled a gambling den operating in the form of cockfighting for money in Chau Thanh district.

PC45, in coordination with the Chau Thanh District Police, has detained 18 individuals for investigation into gambling and organizing gambling activities in the form of cockfighting for money.

According to the investigation results, on the evening of July 15th, police detectives unexpectedly opened fire and surrounded an empty plot of land behind the Thanh Dat coffee shop in Chau Thanh district, apprehending 18 individuals who were gambling on cockfighting.

The police temporarily detained 18 suspects, confiscated 18 motorbikes, 18 mobile phones, a weighing scale, adhesive tape, rooster spurs, and two fighting roosters, and seized 48.5 million VND.

Working with the police, the suspects initially confessed that the cockfighting arena had only opened one day prior. The arena was organized and owned by Huynh Minh Thanh (34 years old, residing in Dong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district).
