Two forest rangers arrested for destruction of green lim forest
The head of the forest protection station and a ranger were prosecuted for allowing the destruction of rare green lim forest in the protective forest.
On September 29, Colonel Le Quang Vinh - Head of Nam Giang District Police (Quang Nam) said that the unit had decided to prosecute the case, the accused and arrested Mr. A Vo To Vich - Head of Cha Val Forest Protection Management Station (under the Nam Song Bung Forest Protection Management Board) and Nguyen Nhi - forest ranger of Cha Val commune for the act of Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences.

Two people were accused of being involved in deforestation and illegal logging in compartments 1 and 3 (compartment 335, Cha Val commune) which caused 33 hundreds-year-old ironwood trees to be cut down.
In mid-September, the Nam Giang District Party Committee disciplined and removed Mr. Tran Lanh - Director of the Nam Song Bung Protective Forest Management Board - from all Party positions for allowing illegal deforestation.
According to authorities, Mr. Lanh failed to fulfill his management and operational duties without justifiable reasons, resulting in serious consequences.
