Two drug addicts arrested for trafficking crystal meth.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hung has been addicted to drugs for over a decade but still works as a taxi driver. Taking advantage of his vehicle, he also engages in drug trafficking to earn money for his expenses and drug use.

On the morning of January 20th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Nghi Loc District Police announced that they had successfully cracked case 117M, arresting Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1969), residing in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town, and Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1979), residing in Hamlet 15, Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city, and seizing a total of 15.21 grams of synthetic drugs.

Two months prior, illegal drug trafficking had become prevalent in the central communes and towns of Nghi Loc district, affecting security and order in the area. The Nghi Loc District Police established Special Case 117M, headed by Major Nguyen Trong Tue, the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency.

Through surveillance and investigative techniques, the investigating agency identified Nguyen Van Thanh, a self-employed individual residing in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town, as a key suspect. Simultaneously, the investigating agency determined that Thanh was a key member of a drug trafficking ring directly linked to Nguyen Dinh Hung, a taxi driver residing in Hamlet 15, Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city.

After assessing the situation and determining the time was ripe, the special task force decided to crack the case. At 5 PM on January 18th, in Block 5, Quan Hanh town, the task force of the Criminal, Economic, and Narcotics Police Team of Nghi Loc Police conducted an administrative inspection of Nguyen Van Thanh. There, the task force seized one package of methamphetamine weighing 0.25 grams from the suspect. A search of the suspect's residence yielded an additional 4.83 grams of methamphetamine, two mobile phones, one motorbike, and 500,000 VND.

Based on Nguyen Van Thanh's testimony, at 10:10 AM on January 19th, in Hamlet 18, Nghi Lien Commune, Vinh City, the special task force arrested Nguyen Dinh Hung while he was driving a taxi home.

During the search, the task force seized one package of methamphetamine weighing 2.035 grams from the suspect's vehicle. Expanding the search to Hung's residence, authorities seized an additional 8.095 grams of the same type of methamphetamine, a small weighing scale, a mobile phone, and a yellow taxi.

It is known that Nguyen Van Thanh and Nguyen Dinh Hung are both drug addicts. Hung, in particular, has been addicted to drugs for over 10 years and was released from prison just 4 months ago after serving a 10-year sentence for theft.

The incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
