Arrested 2 drug addicts for trafficking crystal meth

On the morning of January 20, the Nghi Loc District Police Department announced that the unit had just successfully broken up Project 117M, arresting Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1969), residing in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town, and Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1979), residing in hamlet 15, Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city, and seizing a total of 15.21 grams of synthetic drugs.

Two months earlier, in the communes and towns in the central area of ​​Nghi Loc district, illegal drug trafficking had emerged, affecting security and order in the area. Nghi Loc district police had established Project 117M headed by Major Nguyen Trong Tue - Head of the Investigation Police Agency.

Through the process of reconnaissance and professional measures, the investigation agency found that Nguyen Van Thanh was a freelancer in Kim Lien hamlet, Quan Hanh town. At the same time, the investigation agency determined that Thanh was a branch of a drug trafficking ring directly related to Nguyen Dinh Hung, a taxi driver living in hamlet 15, Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city.

After grasping the situation and determining the right time, the Task Force decided to crack the case. At 5:00 p.m. on January 18, at Block 5 of Quan Hanh Town, the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug Team of Nghi Loc Police conducted an administrative check on Nguyen Van Thanh. Here, the task force seized a package of crystal meth weighing 0.25 grams from the subject. Searching the subject's residence, the authorities seized another 4.83 grams of crystal meth, 2 mobile phones, 1 motorbike and 500,000 VND.

Based on Nguyen Van Thanh's testimony, at 10:10 a.m. on January 19, at Hamlet 18, Nghi Lien Commune, Vinh City, the Special Task Force arrested Nguyen Dinh Hung while he was driving a taxi home.

During the search, the task force seized a package of crystal meth weighing 2.035 grams from the suspect's vehicle. Expanding the search of Hung's residence, the authorities seized another 8.095 grams of the same type of drug, a small scale, a mobile phone, and a yellow taxi.

It is known that Nguyen Van Thanh and Nguyen Dinh Hung are both drug addicts. Hung has been addicted to drugs for over 10 years and has just been released from prison for 4 months after serving a 10-year sentence for theft.

The case is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
