Arrested 2 subjects using cyberspace to commit fraud
The two subjects arrested were Ma Quoc Tuan (born in 1983) and Pham Thu Hong (born in 1986) for the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
During the investigation, An Giang Provincial Police determined: Taking advantage of loopholes of HD SAISON Finance Company Limited, headquartered in Ward 6, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City (HD SAISON Company) in online lending through the application "HD SAISON mobile app".
Two subjects Ma Quoc Tuan and Pham Thu Hong (living with Tuan as husband and wife) found and invited many customers in Cho Moi district, An Giang province to borrow money, standing up to borrow money from HD SAISON Company via the app.
Trusting Tuan and Hong, the people provided personal information such as their ID cards and photos so that the subjects could complete the loan procedures of the Company. Tuan and Hong used their own phone numbers to register on the loan application and open an account to receive money in order toappropriation of moneyof the Company and a part of the customer's loan. After receiving the money, Tuan and Hong only gave the customer 25% of the amount on the loan contract, Tuan and Hong appropriated the remaining amount.
Using the above tricks, from January 2024 to June 2024, Tuan and Hong collected personal information of 136 customers in Cho Moi district to borrow and appropriate over 3.2 billion VND from HD SAISON Company.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police.
