Two architects arrested for defrauding people of billions of dong by promising them projects.
Police have just arrested and detained two architects who defrauded people by promising to obtain investment approval for a project, thereby embezzling 3.3 billion VND.
On October 9th, the Economic Police Department of Da Nang City Police announced that they have initiated criminal proceedings and temporarily detained Le Anh Van (born in 1978) and Vo Dang Khoa (born in 1981, both residing in Ho Chi Minh City) for investigation into the crime of...Fraudulent appropriation of property.
According to the initial investigation, Van and Khoa are architects. Taking advantage of the fact that large plots of land in Da Nang City, including the Summit Thuan Phuoc apartment project on 3/2 Street (Hai Chau District), had not yet received investment approval, Le Anh Van and Vo Dang Khoa provided false information. They claimed to be able to obtain investment approval and construction permits for the project in exchange for money from Mr. MVH (born in 1975, residing in Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).

To gain Mr. H.'s trust, the defendants introduced themselves as having close relationships with various departments and agencies, as well as many high-ranking individuals in Da Nang City, and claimed they could obtain approval for Mr. MVH's investment project.
At the same time, Van and Khoa also assured Mr. H. that all difficulties and obstacles related to project planning, land ownership, and other disputes would be resolved and overcome.

After receiving 3.3 billion VND from Mr. H., the defendants did not carry out any of the tasks related to obtaining investment approval for the project, but instead used all the money for personal expenses and debt repayment.
