Three suspects arrested for using chainsaws to destroy the forest.
On the afternoon of August 7th, sources from the Thang Binh District Police (Quang Nam province) reported that they had caught three suspects red-handed using chainsaws to cut down trees in the forest area bordering Thang Binh and Tien Phuoc districts (Quang Nam province).
According to this source, at approximately 10:00 AM on the same day, the police of Binh Tri commune (Thang Binh district) coordinated with the commune's forest rangers to discover five suspects using chainsaws to cut down forest trees in the aforementioned area.

Shortly afterward, the authorities quickly apprehended three suspects, while the other two managed to escape from the scene.
At the scene, authorities seized three chainsaws to aid in the investigation.
The three arrested individuals are Huynh Ngoc An (born in 1961) and Le Tan (born in 1968, both residing in Tien Son commune, Tien Phuoc district) and Le Van Mot (born in 1967, residing in Hamlet 9, Binh Lam commune, Hiep Duc district, Quang Nam province). After catching them red-handed, the Binh Tri commune police force took the three individuals to the commune headquarters for questioning.

At the same time as bringing the suspects to the police station, the local police also reported the incident to the Thang Binh District Police and the district's forest protection force to initiate an investigation.
Upon receiving the report, the two agencies quickly approached the scene to conduct initial questioning. Initially, the suspects confessed to the act and stated that all three were working for someone else.
According to our investigation, the forest area bordering Tien Phuoc and Thang Binh districts has been experiencing a surge in deforestation recently, with an estimated 3.5 hectares of forest illegally exploited to date.
