Arrested 7 subjects protecting Tet peach blossom sales

Information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that through the work of grasping the situation and reflecting on the people's reports about some subjects having the phenomenon of protecting and collecting money from businesses selling peach, kumquat, ornamental plants and people transporting peach to sell in the area of ​​CSEDP Avenue, Thanh Hoa City.

Through collecting documents, the authorities determined that, although the authorities did not permit the subdivision of sidewalks for sale to individuals,Tet sales businessBut some people have arbitrarily divided lots, numbered them and collected money from small traders selling peach trees at prices ranging from 1.5 to 10 million VND/lot with a 5m sidewalk frontage depending on the location (estimated revenue from this activity is up to 1 billion VND).

For those who transport peach blossoms (branches, trees) from Quang Xuong, Trieu Son districts... by motorbike to sell, the subjects collect from 10,000 VND to 50,000 VND/branch/day. After collecting the money, these subjects will staple and attach a "stamp" to mark the area. In case of non-compliance, they will be chased away, have their peach blossoms destroyed, or be threatened with injury.

Every day, the groups of subjects collect about 500 - 1,000 cases (calculated on peach tree heads), the total amount of money they collect is about 2 billion VND.

Regarding the above incident, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police temporarily detained 7 suspects, including: Bui Sy Ba (aka Ba Ga, born in 1969 in Tan Phong town, Quang Xuong district); Le Nguyen Cuong (aka Cuong Chip, born in 1990), Nguyen Van Son (born in 1984); Nguyen Van Lam (born in 1990) all in Quang Thang ward; Luong Ba Duong (born in 1996, in Ham Rong ward); Nguyen Dinh Chien (aka Chien Ro, born in 1990, in Quang Hung ward and Nguyen Van Thuong (born in 1996, in Dong Ve ward) all in Thanh Hoa city).

The police are investigating and expanding the case.
