Seven people arrested for playing 'xoc dia' (a Vietnamese gambling game) for money late at night.
(Baonghean.vn) - While engrossed in gambling late at night, seven individuals were discovered and arrested by the Nghi Loc District Police, Nghe An Province.
On January 24th, the Nghi Loc District Police in Nghe An Province announced that they are currently holding eight individuals in custody for investigation into gambling and organizing gambling activities.

Accordingly, from the beginning of January 2022 to the present, through monitoring the local situation, the Criminal, Economic, and Drug Crime Investigation Team of Nghi Loc District Police discovered a group consisting of many individuals involved.mobile gamblingThis took place in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district. Notably, some members of this gambling ring had previous criminal records for the same offenses and operated very sophisticatedly. To evade law enforcement, the members assigned lookouts and frequently changed locations during gambling sessions.

After a period of surveillance, at approximately 11 PM on January 20, 2022, information was received that the suspects were gathering at the house of Nguyen Van Hoa (born in 1962), residing in Nghi Dien commune, to gamble. Twenty officers from the Criminal, Economic, and Narcotics Investigation Team of Nghi Loc District Police and Nghi Dien Commune Police quickly deployed forces and launched a surprise raid, catching seven suspects red-handed gambling using the dice-shaking method.
The seven individuals arrested by the police for participating in gambling, all residing in Nghi Dien commune, include: Pham Quang Cuu (born 1968), Pham Dinh Hai (born 1986), Nguyen Huu Luong (born 1981), Nguyen Van Ly (born 1991), Mai Van Tung (born 1991), Nguyen Dinh Than (born 1978), and Nguyen Quoc Chien (born 1984). The seized items included 43.6 million VND; one set of bowls and plates and four dice; 12 mobile phones; and other related evidence.
Currently, the case is being handled by the Nghi Loc District Police in accordance with the law.
