A bowl of porridge warms the heart on a stormy day.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 16th, youth union members from Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong district) traveled nearly 30 km through stormy weather to distribute over 100 bowls of porridge to impoverished patients.

Accordingly, more than 100 bowls of porridge were distributed to poor patients receiving treatment at the Tuong Duong District Medical Center. Quang Van May, Secretary of the Luu Kien Commune Youth Union, said: "Since yesterday, the youth union members of Luu Kien commune have been preparing the ingredients to cook porridge this morning and distribute it to the patients." May also added that due to difficult roads and rain, the union members had to leave at 4 a.m. to ensure the porridge reached the patients on time.

The "Bowl of Compassion" program of the Luu Kien Commune Youth Union has been implemented since the beginning of 2016. This activity aims to help and share the difficulties faced by poor patients. According to the program and plan of the Tuong Duong District Youth Union, every Saturday, youth union members from 18 communes and towns and 14 affiliated branches take turns distributing porridge to patients.

The aforementioned activities of the youth in Tuong Duong district are receiving support from many people.
