A bowl of porridge warms the heart on a stormy day

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 16, youth union members of Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong) traveled nearly 30 km in stormy conditions to organize the delivery of more than 100 bowls of porridge to poor patients.

Accordingly, more than 100 portions of porridge were given to poor patients being treated at the Tuong Duong District Medical Center. Mr. Quang Van May - Secretary of the Youth Union of Luu Kien Commune said: "Since yesterday, the Youth Union members of Luu Kien Commune have prepared ingredients to cook porridge this morning to distribute to patients". Mr. May also said that due to the difficult roads and the rain, the Youth Union members had to leave at 4 am to deliver porridge to the patients on time.

The program "Bowl of love porridge" of Luu Kien Commune Youth Union has been implemented since the beginning of 2016. Through this activity, the aim is to help and share difficulties with poor patients. According to the program and plan of Tuong Duong District Youth Union, every Saturday, youth union members of 18 communes, towns and 14 affiliated youth union branches will take turns distributing porridge to patients.
