Suspect arrested for snatching a pedestrian's phone.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Anh Son District Police have arrested Vi Van Dong (born in 1997), residing in Nghia Lac commune, Nghia Dan district, for the crime of robbery.
Earlier, on the morning of March 28th, while traveling on National Highway 7 (in Long Son commune, Anh Son district), Vi Van Dong spotted two students riding a motorbike. Taking advantage of their carelessness, he snatched the phone from the student sitting on the back of the motorbike and fled.
Following a tip-off from the public, the Anh Son District Police established a special task force to investigate and apprehend the suspect.
By the morning of March 29th, the Special Investigation Team successfully apprehended Vi Van Dong while he was traveling on the road looking for a "victim". The seized items included a mobile phone that the suspect had stolen and some cash.
At the police station, Vi Van Dong confessed that after snatching the mobile phone, he found some cash in the phone case and used it for personal expenses.
During the expanded investigation, Dong further confessed that on February 20th, he stole a red Honda Wave RS motorcycle with license plate 37S1-2608 in Luu Son commune, Do Luong district.
Currently, the Anh Son District Police are holding the suspect in custody for further investigation and are completing the procedures to return the property to the owner.
