Suspect arrested for a series of motorcycle thefts targeting factory workers.

(Baonghean.vn) -To get money to buy drugs.Vo Bay went to the place where his wife rented a room in the Nam Cam Industrial Zone (Nghi Loc), waited until dawn, then sneaked up and stole a motorbike belonging to a fellow worker to sell.

On August 8th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Nghi Loc District Police announced that they had successfully cracked case 717X, arresting three suspects and seizing three motorcycles.

Earlier on the morning of July 23rd, Mr. Nguyen Van Viet (born in 1981, from Tan Ky district), a worker at the Nam Cam Industrial Park and residing at the house of Mr. Nguyen Duy Son (Hamlet 11, Nghi Xa commune), woke up in a panic to find his Sirius motorbike with license plate 37B1 - 023.32, parked in the hallway, had vanished without a trace.

Four days later (July 27th), Cao Ngoc Uyen's Sirius motorbike with license plate 36U1 - 6365, which was parked at his rented room, was also stolen.

On the night of August 1st, Ms. Ngo Thi Hong (from Yen Thanh district), who was staying at Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu's house, two rows away from Mr. Son's rented house, also had her motorbike with license plate 37F4 - 9767 stolen by thieves.

A series of motorbike thefts at lodging houses near the Nam Cam Industrial Park caused widespread anxiety among workers. In response to this situation, the Nghi Loc District Police decided to establish Special Case 717X to combat the problem.

Through the process of reviewing and screening suspects, the Police Investigation Agency initially identified Vo Bay (born in 1990), residing in Hamlet 9, Dien Tho Commune, Dien Chau District, as the main suspect in the case.

After gathering sufficient information, at 10:00 AM on August 4th, the special task force executed an urgent arrest warrant for Vo Bay at his home in Dien Chau district.

At the police station, Vo Bay confessed to being a long-time drug addict. To get money to satisfy his addiction, Bay rented a room and took advantage of the workers' negligence to steal their belongings. Tho confessed to stealing the three motorbikes mentioned above and selling them to two people in Dien Loc commune for 9.5 million VND.

Based on Vo Bay's testimony, on the same day, the investigating agency arrested Dang Hoang (born in 1985) and Phan Minh (born in 1989), both residing in Dien Loc commune, Dien Chau district, for the crime of receiving stolen property.

Dang Hoang and Phan Minh also confessed to buying the three motorcycles from Vo Bay, even though they knew Bay had stolen them.

The investigating agency is currently compiling a case file to prosecute the individuals in accordance with the law.
