On August 31st, the Hanoi City Police announced that the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Hanoi City Police had identified the suspect involved in a scam involving the buying and selling of invitations and attendance cards for the A80 event.

Previously, through intelligence gathering, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department discovered a Facebook account named "Nguyen Thanh Nam" posting advertisements for the sale of invitations and event passes for event A80. After someone transferred money to purchase the invitations or passes, this Facebook account blocked communication and misappropriated the funds.

The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Hanoi City Police has identified the fraudster as NTN.

Based on the information gathered, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Hanoi City Police promptly launched an investigation. The verification process identified the fraudster as NTN (born in 2008, residing in Ninh Binh province).

At the police station, N confessed that due to needing money, he took advantage of the National Day holiday on September 2nd to commit fraud and embezzle property. Although he did not possess an invitation to the A80 event, N downloaded an image of an invitation from the internet and then used editing software to create the illusion of having one, tricking buyers into transferring deposit money. Initially, the police determined that the suspect embezzled money from eight people who wanted to buy invitations to the A80 event and related music programs.

The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Hanoi City Police has handed over the suspect to the Hoan Kiem Ward Police for further investigation and legal processing.

Previously, on August 29th, the Internal Political Security Department of the Hanoi City Police discovered and coordinated with the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Hanoi City Police to handle the case of Phan Hanh Thuong (born in 1993, residing in Phu Thuong Ward, Hanoi) for the act of defrauding 135 million VND through the sale of invitations to watch the A80 parade.

Hanoi City Police advise citizens to be extremely vigilant against such tactics and absolutely not trust any offers to buy or sell invitations or attendance passes for the A80 event; any acts of exploiting the A80 Anniversary Celebration for personal gain will be strictly dealt with by the authorities according to regulations.
