Previously, on February 26, the police of Co Nhue 1 ward, Bac Tu Liem district received a complaint from Ms. T about being defrauded and having her property appropriated by Pham Tuan Anh.
During the investigation, the police determined that due to needing to buy a large quantity of medical masks and being introduced by a friend, on February 19, Ms. T made an appointment to meet Pham Tuan Anh to discuss the purchase.
Tuan Anh "bragged" that his company had imported a large quantity of masks from China, then sent Ms. T pictures and videos of mask samples, mask boxes, and footage of container trucks carrying goods through the border gate.
Trusting her, Ms. T then signed a contract to buy masks from Tuan Anh for a total value of 169 million VND and paid a deposit of 65 million VND. However, when the deadline came to deliver the masks, Tuan Anh still did not have the goods to deliver as promised. Ms. T called but Tuan Anh did not answer, nor did she reply to her messages.
Thinking she had been scammed, on February 26, Ms. T and her friend went to look for Tuan Anh. When she discovered the subject in the Goldmark urban area, Ms. T asked the subject to go to the Co Nhue 1 Ward Police Station and report the incident. Based on documents and evidence, the Bac Tu Liem District Police arrested and handled the subject according to the provisions of the law./.
