Authorities arrested a suspect involved in smuggling drugs from abroad into Nghe An province, seizing two blocks of heroin.
The Nghe An Provincial Police have just dismantled a drug trafficking ring that illegally smuggled drugs from abroad into Vietnam, arresting Tran Van Thuc and seizing 2 blocks of heroin, 6 synthetic drug pills, 1 handgun, and 4 bullets.
Previously, based on intelligence gathered, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered that Tran Van Thuc (born in 1972), residing in Kim Bang commune, Nghe An province, showed suspicious signs of engaging in the illegal trafficking of narcotics. They then coordinated with the Kim Bang commune police to verify the information. After a period of surveillance, authorities determined that Tran Van Thuc was colluding with individuals abroad to illegally purchase and transport narcotics into Vietnam for consumption.
In response to this situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department established a special task force to combat and dismantle the operation.

After a period of investigation, the special task force decided to crack the case. Accordingly, at 9 PM on December 29th, in Hamlet 5, Kim Bang Commune, the Drug Crime Investigation Department and the Kim Bang Commune Police successfully dismantled the drug trafficking ring, arresting Tran Van Thuc for the offenses of "Organizing the illegal use of narcotics" and "Illegally trading narcotics." They seized 2 blocks of heroin, 1 handgun, 4 bullets, 6 synthetic drug pills, 2 mobile phones, and 1 set of drug paraphernalia.
At the investigative agency, Tran Van Thuc initially confessed to his criminal acts.
