Suspect arrested for trafficking large quantities of drugs.
The Nghe An Provincial Police have successfully dismantled a drug trafficking ring, arresting Hoang Van Khanh for "illegally trading narcotics," seizing 2 blocks of heroin, 1 kg of methamphetamine, and 200 ecstasy pills.
Continuing to strengthen crime prevention and suppression during the 2026 anti-drug campaign month, through intelligence gathering, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police discovered that Hoang Van Khanh (born in 1962), residing in Kim Bang commune, showed many suspicious signs related to the illegal trafficking of narcotics. Given this situation, the unit sought guidance from the Provincial Police leadership to establish a special case to apprehend him.
Under the direct and decisive leadership of the Provincial Police Department, the Special Investigation Team implemented a comprehensive set of operational measures, closely monitoring the movements of the suspect. At approximately 9 PM on June 22, 2026, in Truong Ky hamlet, Kim Bang commune, the Drug Crime Investigation Department, Hung Nguyen Nam Commune Police, Kim Bang Commune Police, in coordination with Vinh Hung Ward Police, successfully cracked the case, apprehending Hoang Van Khanh red-handed for the crime of "Illegal trafficking of narcotics," seizing 2 blocks of heroin, 1 kg of methamphetamine, 200 ecstasy pills, and a used motorcycle.

At the police station, Hoang Van Khanh initially confessed to the crime. It is known that the suspect previously had one conviction related to drug offenses. Currently, the case is being further investigated and expanded by the police.
