Suspect arrested for 'buying drugs on behalf of others'

(Baonghean.vn) - Upon noticing a young man on a motorbike acting suspiciously, they requested a check and found a small package wrapped in paper containing a white powder in his hand.

The suspect is Nguyen Van Hong.

Accordingly, at approximately 2:15 PM on October 21st, Traffic Patrol Team 1.48 ( thuộc the Road and Rail Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police) was on duty in Dien Lam commune, Dien Chau district, when they spotted a young man riding a motorbike with license plate 37L1 - 125.60 exhibiting suspicious behavior.

The driver was asked to stop for inspection, during which a small package wrapped in paper containing a white powder suspected to be drugs (weighing 0.25 grams) was found in the suspect's hand.

The suspect, identified as Nguyen Van Hong (born in 1981), residing in Hamlet 4, Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District, confessed that he bought the drugs from an unknown man in Dien Lam Commune for 2.5 million VND. Hong was on his way back to use them with other drug addicts in Quynh Luu District when he was arrested.
