Authorities arrested a suspect for possessing 30 kg of fireworks in the border area.

An individual illegally possessing explosive fireworks has been arrested by authorities at the Nam Can International Border Gate, Ky Son district.

Accordingly, at 10:30 AM on December 6th, in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station; the Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Department (Nghe An Border Guard Command) coordinated with the Nam Can International Border Gate Customs Branch; and the Ky Son District Police to detect and arrest Nguyen Van Thai, born in 1993, residing in Nghi Tan Ward, Vinh City, a passenger on a Lao-registered vehicle with license plate 7307 belonging to Huyen Binh bus company, operating the route from Vinh City to Xieng Khouang (Laos), for the act of "illegally possessing explosive fireworks".

The seized items included over 30 kg of fireworks. During questioning, Nguyen Van Thai confessed that the seized items were explosive fireworks manufactured in Thailand, which he had purchased from a foreign man for 4,000,000 Lao kip (four million Lao kip) for personal use.

The Nậm Cắn International Border Gate Border Guard Station has completed the dossier and is continuing to coordinate with relevant authorities to conduct further investigation and verification of the case for handling in accordance with the law.
