Having been charged and arrested by the Security Investigation Agency of the Nghe An Provincial Police for the crime of "Organizing the illegal emigration of others," Nguyen Dinh Hieu (born in 2001), residing in Thuong Tho hamlet, Nghi Loc commune, Nghe An province, fled the area. However, his whereabouts were quickly discovered and he was apprehended by the police.
On July 3, 2026, the Security Investigation Agency of the Provincial Police announced the successful arrest of suspect Nguyen Dinh Hieu for the crime of "Organizing the illegal emigration of others" that occurred in 2025 in Nghe An province. The investigation determined that Nguyen Dinh Hieu colluded with Nguyen Thi Vinh (born in 1980), residing in Bac Chau hamlet, Van Tu commune, Nghe An province, to organize and facilitate the illegal emigration of five citizens residing in Nghe An province from Vietnam to Europe, with the aim of staying illegally in the United Kingdom and the Republic of France to work.

On May 4, 2026, the Security Investigation Agency of the Provincial Police issued a Decision to prosecute and an Arrest Warrant for temporary detention against Nguyen Dinh Hieu for the crime of "Organizing the illegal emigration of others to foreign countries.However, instead of surrendering and cooperating with the investigating authorities, Nguyen Dinh Hieu fled the area, hindering the investigation. Although the investigating authorities frequently met with and contacted his relatives to persuade Nguyen Dinh Hieu to turn himself in, the suspect continued to evade capture.
In light of the above situation, with a resolute spirit to combat crime and prevent the emergence of wanted fugitives, the Security Investigation Agency of the Nghe An Provincial Police mobilized maximum resources and applied a comprehensive range of professional measures. Through this, they determined that after committing the crime, Nguyen Dinh Hieu was hiding in various locations across many provinces and cities in southern Vietnam.

On June 25, 2026, after a period of persistent monitoring and close tracking of Nguyen Dinh Hieu's movements, upon discovering his hiding place, the Security Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police quickly deployed forces, coordinating with other professional units and the Than Linh Commune Police, Nghe An Province, to promptly arrest Nguyen Dinh Hieu and apply temporary detention measures for processing in accordance with the law.
