Arresting a wanted suspect, authorities discover firearms and ammunition.
The Police Investigation Agency has arrested Lê Xuân Thắng (born in 1981), a suspect who was wanted on a special warrant, for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.
According to initial information, around September 2022, Le Xuan Thang and Ms. TTH (born in 1981, residing in Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province) lived together as husband and wife.

Taking advantage of Ms. H.'s trust, knowing she owned three plots of land, Thang deceived and tricked her into mortgaging these three land use right certificates to borrow 8 billion VND, which he then misappropriated for personal use. Ms. H. was unaware of this mortgage and it was against her will, preventing her from redeeming her property and causing her to lose her legal right to use the three plots of land worth over 16.3 billion VND.
On March 21, 2024, the Investigation Police Department of Binh Phuoc province issued a decision to temporarily suspend exit from the country; initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and issue an arrest warrant for temporary detention against Le Xuan Thang for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of propertyHowever, Thang has escaped.
On October 12th, the Investigative Police Agency issued a special wanted notice for Thang for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property. Verification revealed that Thang was suspected of hiding in Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, before returning to hide in Can Tho City, Ben Tre Province, and Ho Chi Minh City.
At approximately 1:00 AM on December 1st, a task force from the Criminal Investigation Agency, in coordination with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police, and the District 7 Police of Ho Chi Minh City, discovered and apprehended Thang, who was hiding in a hotel in Tan Hung Ward, District 7.
Upon arresting Thang, the police discovered and seized a metal handgun with a magazine and 5 bullets inside, along with 22 other bullets and some related documents.
Thang has now been transferred to the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police for further investigation.
