Authorities arrest suspect transporting firecrackers from abroad to Nghe An.
Taking advantage of the cover of darkness, a foreign national transported 12 boxes of explosive fireworks from across the border into Vietnam for sale.
On the evening of December 3rd, a task force from the Thong Thu Border Guard Post, the Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Department of the Nghe An Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Thong Thu Commune Police, Que Phong District, apprehended Cong Va (born in 1989), residing in Nam Tay village, Vieng Phan cluster, Sam To district, Hua Phan province (Laos), while he was transporting explosive fireworks across the border.
The seized items included 12 boxes of firecrackers weighing approximately 17.9 kg. According to initial statements, the suspect, Cong Va, was hired to transport them across the border for a fee.
Currently, the unit has completed the initial documentation and handed over the suspect and evidence to the relevant authorities for processing.
