Arsonist who burned down 4 houses caught
After nearly 2 days of pursuit, the police arrested Nguyen Van Thu while he was hiding about 70 km from the crime scene.
The leader of Bac Giang Provincial Police said that the Criminal Police Department arrested Nguyen Van Thu (born in 1991), permanent residence in Hoang Tien Ward, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province; temporary residence in My Dien 2 residential group, Nenh Ward, Viet Yen Town, Bac Giang Province.
Nguyen Van Thu was identified as the arsonist who burned down 4 houses in My Dien 2 residential group, causing about 13 billion VND in damage.
He was arrested by police while hiding in Vinh Ninh village, Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district, about 70 km from the crime scene.
Currently, the authorities are transferring Thu to Bac Giang Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the acts of "Murder" and "Destruction of property".

At 2:00 a.m. on May 26, a fire broke out at Lan Hung electric motorbike spare parts store in My Dien 2 residential group, then spread to 3 adjacent houses.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Bac Giang Provincial Police) dispatched 50 officers, soldiers and 5 fire trucks to coordinate with the authorities and police of Nenh ward to put out the fire.
At the time of arrival, the authorities determined that the fire originated from an electric motorbike spare parts store owned by Mr. Le Van Hung's family and spread to 3 adjacent houses.
The fire was extinguished at nearly 4 a.m. There were no casualties, but it burned down four houses, one car and many valuable properties. The initial damage was estimated at around VND13 billion. Immediately afterwards, a clip from a security camera appeared on social media, recording Nguyen Van Thu wearing a blue shirt, a purple helmet, and holding two plastic bottles suspected of containing gasoline.
He went to the front door of a house, poured the liquid on the floor and lit it on fire. The fire flared up fiercely, engulfing the entire door area. The suspect quickly left the scene, his legs were also covered in gasoline and slightly burned.
