Arsonist who destroyed four houses has been apprehended.
After nearly two days of searching, the police arrested Nguyen Van Thu while he was hiding about 70 km from the crime scene.
According to the Bac Giang Provincial Police leadership, the Criminal Police Department arrested Nguyen Van Thu (born in 1991), whose permanent residence is in Hoang Tien Ward, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province; and who was temporarily residing in My Dien 2 residential area, Nenh Ward, Viet Yen Town, Bac Giang Province.
Nguyen Van Thu has been identified as the arsonist who caused the fire that destroyed four houses in My Dien 2 residential area, resulting in damages estimated at approximately 13 billion VND.
He was arrested by the police while hiding in Vinh Ninh village, Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district, about 70 km from the crime scene.
Authorities are currently transporting Thu to the Bac Giang Provincial Police for investigation and clarification regarding the acts of "murder" and "Destruction of property".

At over 2 AM on May 26th, a fire broke out at the Lan Hung electric motorbike parts store in My Dien 2 residential area, then spread to three adjacent houses.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department (Bac Giang Provincial Police) dispatched 50 officers and soldiers and 5 fire trucks to coordinate with the local authorities and police of Nenh ward to extinguish the fire.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that the fire originated in an electric motorbike parts shop owned by the family of Mr. Le Van Hung and spread to three adjacent houses.
The fire was extinguished around 4 AM. There were no casualties, but it destroyed four houses, one car, and many valuable assets. Preliminary estimates of the damage are approximately 13 billion VND. Shortly afterward, a video clip extracted from a security camera appeared on social media, showing Nguyen Van Thu wearing a blue shirt and a purple helmet, carrying two plastic bottles suspected of containing gasoline.
He approached the front door of a house, poured the liquid onto the floor, and set it on fire. The flames erupted fiercely, engulfing the entire area around the door. The suspect quickly fled the scene, his legs also covered in gasoline and suffering minor burns.
