Fifteen people were arrested for gambling at a large-scale dice game.
On December 20th, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police announced that the Criminal Police Department had successfully dismantled a sophisticated gambling ring, catching 15 individuals red-handed gambling using the dice-shaking method. A large sum of money and other related evidence were seized.
Earlier, at approximately 3 PM on December 18, 2025, based on information provided by the public, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police implemented a comprehensive set of operational measures, quickly verifying the information and organizing a raid on the house of Bui Thi Huong, born in 1978, residing in Nguyet Thanh village, Nguyet An commune, Thanh Hoa province. There, the police caught 15 individuals red-handed gambling using the dice-shaking method. At the scene, authorities seized 220 million VND from the gambling table, along with many other items used in organizing the gambling.

Initial investigations revealed that this was an organized gambling ring, comprising many individuals with criminal records and previous convictions, from various communes across the province. Of the 15 arrested, 4 resided in Cam Thuy commune, 3 in Nguyet An commune, and 3 in Cam Thach commune; the remaining 5 were from Ngoc Lac, Minh Son, Tho Lap, Ngoc Lien, and Hoang Chau communes.
According to the suspects' statements, this gambling den was organized and run by Le The Tai, born in 1989; Cao Huu Kien, born in 1985, both residing in Nguyet Son village, Nguyet An commune; and Luong Quoc Truc, born in 1989, residing in Hoang Chau commune. The suspects rented a house from Bui Thi Huong to use as a location for gamblers to play dice. Cao Huu Kien and Luong Quoc Truc played key roles, directly finding the location, collecting the house money, and participating in shaking the dice. In addition, the gambling den also included individuals involved in loan sharking, readily lending money or accepting assets as collateral when gamblers ran out of capital.
To evade law enforcement, the suspects organized strict security and surveillance from the outer perimeter, assigning people to monitor all activity around the gambling area.
Currently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to temporarily detain 15 suspects for further investigation, to clarify the role of each suspect and to expand the case in accordance with the law.
