Two suspects arrested for impersonating criminal police officers to rob people.

On September 2nd, information from the Criminal Police Department of Hai Phong City Police indicated that the unit, in coordination with An Duong Ward Police (Hai Phong City), had arrested two suspects.impersonationCSHS robbed property.

Previously, on August 29th, the An Duong Ward Police received a report that at the intersection of Road 351 and Nguyen Truong To Road (in Hoa Nhat residential area, An Duong Ward), two individuals claiming to be police officers committed a robbery, stealing a motorbike and three mobile phones from the victim.

Immediately after receiving the information and determining the serious nature of the incident, the An Duong Ward Police reported to the City Police leadership and requested the Criminal Investigation Department to get involved and cooperate in the investigation.

Colonel Bui Trung Thanh – Deputy Director and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Hai Phong Public Security – directly instructed and assigned the Criminal Investigation Department to take the lead, in coordination with the police of other professional departments and localities, to deploy forces to focus on investigating and immediately pursuing the perpetrators of the aforementioned robbery.

Through investigative measures, screening, and tracing, the task force identified the perpetrators as Nguyen Thanh Nhu and Hoang Duc Vuong. On September 1st, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department successfully apprehended these two individuals.

During an urgent search of the private residences of Nguyen Thanh Nhu at 307AB, Ca Hop residential area, and Hoang Duc Vuong at 7C/26/73 Le Lai (both in Ngo Quyen ward), the authorities seized all related evidence.

The seized items included: 1 motorcycle with license plate 15AA-858.94 belonging to the victim, 1 motorcycle with license plate 18B2-278.68 used by the perpetrators in the crime; and 5 mobile phones (3 belonging to the victim, 2 belonging to the perpetrators).

Specifically, among the items seized from the two suspects' homes were a Colt revolver; a number 8 wrench; two foreign-branded walkie-talkies; an unbranded electric baton; and a red armband embroidered with the words "Commander on Duty," which the suspects used to impersonate police officers to commit crimes.

At the police station, the suspects confessed to all their crimes. Nguyen Thanh Nhu also admitted that on August 21st, using the same method of impersonating a police officer, he had robbed a Honda Lead motorbike.

Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Hai Phong City has issued a decision to temporarily detain Nguyen Thanh Nhu and Hoang Duc Vuong for criminal investigation purposes.
