34 people arrested in a massive gambling ring.
On October 30th, Colonel Tran Quoc Toan, Head of the Mobile Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police, announced that his unit had successfully dismantled a large gambling ring, arresting 34 suspects and seizing over 300 million VND.

Colonel Toan added that, in order to crack this case, the forces had to conduct surveillance for many months due to the scale and sophistication of this gambling ring.
Earlier, at around 11:30 AM on October 30th, at the farm of Phan Van Hoang (born in 1987) at Khe Lang dam, bordering Thuong Nga commune (Can Loc district) and Duc Dung commune (Duc Tho district), Ha Tinh police caught a large gambling ring red-handed using the dice-shaking method.
Authorities have detained 34 individuals; seized over 300 million VND, 2 betting slips, 13 decks of cards, 33 mobile phones, 5 cars, 1 motorbike, 1 K59 pistol with 3 bullets loaded, 1 air gun, 10 knives and swords of various types, 1 gas mask, and other gambling equipment.
Reportedly, to apprehend this gang, the police force mobilized more than 40 officers and soldiers to monitor and stake out the area from 1 AM. Currently, the police force is conducting further investigations and will soon bring the suspects to trial according to the law.
