87 arrests related to social vices were made in one month.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 20th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting of the Internal Affairs sector for October 2016. Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - chaired the meeting.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments within the Internal Affairs sector.

Overview of the conference.

According to the report presented at the conference, from September 15th to October 15th, the sectors within the bloc effectively performed their functions and duties. Political security and social order were ensured. Functional agencies launched campaigns to suppress crime, arresting and prosecuting many drug-related criminal rings, handling numerous acts related to smuggling and commercial fraud; violations related to forest product management, and collecting significant fines for the state budget.

Comrade Ho Le Ngoc, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, reported on some aspects of internal affairs work in October.

The work of investigation, prosecution, trial, and enforcement of civil judgments has achieved many results; inspection and supervision work has been implemented synchronously, detecting and recommending timely handling; the work of flood and storm prevention and fire prevention has achieved many important results; and judicial work has been carried out effectively.

From September 15th to October 15th, 260 delegations and 1,027 foreign visitors came to Nghe An, an increase of 8 delegations and a decrease of 98 visitors compared to the previous month; their activities mainly focused on economic cooperation, investment, education, tourism, etc.

Regarding crimes against social order, 82 incidents were detected during the month, resulting in 2 deaths, 34 injuries, and property damage totaling approximately 940 million VND. 87 cases related to social vices were detected and arrests were made, involving 344 individuals engaged in gambling, with 685 million VND confiscated (an increase of 37 cases and 153 individuals compared to the previous month); 3 cases involving 6 individuals engaged in pimping were also apprehended.

During the month, 527 citizens were received, an increase of 19% compared to September 2016; 728 petitions were received, an increase of 22.6% compared to September 2016 (72 complaints, 55 denunciations, and 601 suggestions and land dispute petitions).

The delegates attending the Conference focused on discussing and identifying shortcomings and limitations, and proposed solutions to continue implementing comprehensive and effective measures across all sectors and fields of work in November 2016.

The central task in November is for the internal affairs sectors to continue coordinating and implementing various measures to ensure political security and social order, preventing any unexpected or passive situations from occurring. They will implement measures and gather information to advise Party committees, government authorities, and leaders on effectively addressing newly arising issues at the grassroots level.

In addition, effectively implement inspection work and resolve complaints and denunciations, especially cases involving large numbers of people; strengthen the enforcement of civil judgments and the fight against smuggling and commercial fraud. Particularly, coordinate the implementation of various measures to ensure safety in flood and storm prevention during the rainy season.
