Authorities arrested a suspect for illegally possessing 37kg of homemade firecrackers.
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing a high-intensity campaign to combat crime and protect the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, through patrol and control work, the Nghi Dong Commune Police, Nghi Loc District, discovered and arrested one suspect who was illegally possessing 37 kg of homemade firecrackers.
At 9:30 AM on January 15th, the Nghi Dong Commune Police task force conducted a patrol and inspection in Hamlet 8, Nghi Dong Commune, Nghi Loc District.
During a patrol, the task force noticed that Dau Huu Diep (born in 1984, residing in Hamlet 8, Nghi Dong Commune) exhibited suspicious behavior, so they proceeded with an administrative inspection.
During the inspection, the police discovered and seized 107 homemade firecrackers and 2 bundles of homemade firecrackers with a total weight of 37 kg. Dau Huu Diep confessed that in order to have firecrackers to play during Tet (Lunar New Year), he had researched how to make explosives, then ordered gunpowder and made them himself.
The task force drew up a report and handed the suspect over to the Nghi Loc District Police for handling according to the law.
