Arrest of a particularly dangerous fugitive.
On June 14th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (PC04) of the Nghe An Provincial Police extradited a fugitive wanted for the crime of "Harboring the illegal use of narcotics," a particularly dangerous offense, from abroad back to Vietnam.
Accordingly, Nguyen Anh Duong (born in 1988), residing in Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An Province, was wanted for the crime of "Harboring the illegal use of narcotics" in 2022. Duong is a repeat offender with one prior conviction for "Disrupting public order" and was a key link in the "Organizing the illegal use of narcotics" ring that the police had previously investigated.
In response to this situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police reported to the Provincial Police leadership to establish a special case to combat and apprehend the suspect. During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was hiding in Cambodia, changing his name and creating a cover as a business owner there. The Drug Crime Investigation Department exchanged information and coordinated with relevant functional units to successfully arrest Nguyen Anh Duong and safely escort him back to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police.
At the investigative agency, the suspect confessed to his crime. Currently, the case is being handled by the police in accordance with the law.
