(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Criminal Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police), has just discovered and seized over 480 tons of raw quartz stone without invoices proving its origin.

Accordingly, on February 22, 2024, on National Highway 1A in Quynh Thien ward, Hoang Mai town, the Department of Criminal Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police), inspected a tractor-trailer driven by LMK (born in 1988), residing in Nghia Dan district. At the time of the inspection, authorities discovered 83 tons of stone on the vehicle.raw quartzThere were no invoices proving the origin of the goods. The police have temporarily seized the items for investigation and clarification of the case.

During the investigation, authorities determined that the aforementioned stones belonged to VXTr. (born in 1991), residing in Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district, who purchased them from VVS. (born in 1992), residing in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district, and then hired K. to transport them for sale. An inspection of VVS.'s stone storage area in Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district, by the Anti-Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crime Investigation Police Department uncovered over 400 tons of raw quartz stones. S. confessed that all the stones were illegally mined.
