(Baonghean.vn) - On May 31st, the Nghia Dan District Police arrested a boat that was illegally dredging sand in the Hieu River basin in Nghia Thinh commune (Nghia Dan district).

At 11:00 AM on May 31st, on the banks of the Hieu River in Hamlet 7, Nghia Thinh Commune, Nghia Dan District Police, in coordination with Nghia Thinh Commune Police, apprehended a boat illegally dredging sand in the Hieu River basin. The boat was owned by Mr. Nguyen Cong Long, residing in Hamlet 7, Nghia Thinh Commune, Nghia Dan District.

Upon inspection, the sand-mining boat was found to be unregistered and uninspected, and the owner lacked the necessary documents and qualifications to operate it. At the time of the arrest, the boat had already extracted approximately 4 cubic meters of sand and was equipped with two sand suction machines and various other devices used for illegal sand mining.

The Nghia Dan district police have now drawn up a report, temporarily seized the vehicle, and are completing the necessary paperwork to handle the violation in accordance with the law.
