Taking advantage of the fact that many apartments in the building had unlocked balcony doors, Tung and Manh used ropes to climb into the rooms and steal many valuable items.

On September 21, the Vinh City Police (Nghe An province) announced that they have initiated criminal proceedings and temporarily detained Nguyen Ngoc Tung (29 years old) and Le Khanh Manh (27 years old), both residing in Quang Binh commune, Quang Xuong district (Thanh Hoa province), for the crime of theft.

Tung and Manh at the police station after committing a series of thefts from Nghe An to Hanoi.

According to the records, Tung and Manh were close friends who, lacking money, decided to commit theft. In July and August, they carried out three burglaries of high-rise buildings in Vinh City (Nghe An province) and Ha Dong district (Hanoi province), stealing numerous items including iPhones, tablets, laptops, and wallets.

Some of the stolen items were sold by Mạnh and Tùng for money to spend, while the rest, which they were hiding, were seized by the Vinh City police. During questioning, the two suspects stated that they often went to large cities to scout high-rise buildings. If they found a homeowner vulnerable, they would use ropes to climb into the house at night.

Some of the evidence seized by authorities after arresting Tung and Manh.

Authorities said the total value of the seized assets was approximately 50 million VND.
