Two individuals were arrested for transporting and possessing 13kg of fireworks.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 4th, the Nghi Loc District Police arrested and detained two individuals for illegally transporting and possessing fireworks.

The suspects Le Ngoc Chuong and Nguyen Truong Thang, along with the seized evidence, at the Nghi Loc District Police Station.

After receiving a tip from the public about a yellow truck with license plate 37C 12759 en route from Hanoi to Vinh, transporting illegal fireworks, the Nghi Loc District Police traffic team set up a checkpoint in Nghi Thuan commune.

At 1:30 PM the same day, the truck as reported appeared. The task force signaled the vehicle to stop and proceeded with the inspection. The driver was Le Ngoc Chuong (born in 1986), residing in Hamlet 17, Nghi Van Commune, Nghi Loc District. Also in the vehicle was Nguyen Truong Thang (born in 1982), residing in Block 9, Quan Hanh Town, Nghi Loc District. Upon inspection, the task force discovered a white sack containing three boxes of fireworks manufactured in China.

Le Ngoc Chuong and Nguyen Truong Thang confessed that they had purchased the fireworks from Mong Cai for personal use. During an urgent search of Thang's residence, authorities discovered and seized an additional 4.4 kg of the same type of fireworks, bringing the total weight of fireworks illegally transported and stored by the two suspects to 13 kg.

Currently, the investigating agency is finalizing the case files to prosecute the two individuals in accordance with the law.
