As reported, on the night of December 24, Hoang Thi Duyen (12 years old, 7th grade student, Anh Xuan Secondary School, Nam Dan District) was riding an electric bike carrying her 6-year-old sister from Hamlet 2, Nam Xuan Commune to Nam Linh Commune. On the way to the intersection between Nam Xuan, Nam Linh and Xuan Hoa Communes, Duyen was stabbed in the arm by two masked young men who then sped away.
Duyen tried to ride an electric bike to take her younger sister to the Ru Cat church area (Nam Linh commune), but people used a cloth rope to tie her arm to stop the bleeding and then took her to Nam Dan District General Hospital for emergency treatment. When the doctors and nurses pulled out the knife, Duyen fainted.
Colonel Cao Tien Mai, Head of Nam Dan District Police, said: "With active efforts and determination to investigate and capture the suspects, on the night of December 30, we executed an emergency arrest warrant for Tiep. Based on Tiep's testimony, we continued to arrest Thang. Initially, Tiep and Thang confessed that they had discussed bringing knives to rob property on Christmas Eve. Tiep had a criminal record and Thang was addicted to drugs. We are currently expanding the investigation into the theft and robbery of Tiep and Thang."
