Two women arrested for kidnapping 7-year-old girl to pressure debt collection
Authorities have just arrested two women who kidnapped a 7-year-old girl to pressure her mother to pay a debt of 50 million VND.
Long An Provincial Police, Thanh Duc Commune Police (Ben Luc District) coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to block and arrest two women who committed the act.child kidnappingin Tay Ninh province.
The two people arrested were: Nguyen Thi Hoa (58 years old, residing in Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau province) and Nguyen Thi Huynh Lan (54 years old, residing in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province).

According to the initial investigation, Hoa and Lan used to work together in a fair group owned by Ms. T. (residing in Tay Ninh), operating in Ben Tre. During their work, Ms. Lan lent Ms. T. 50 million VND. After the fair group moved location, Ms. T. did not allow Ms. Hoa and Ms. Lan to follow them to work and showed signs of avoiding them and not paying their debts.
On the afternoon of May 20, these two women drove a motorbike to Ms. T.’s biological father’s house in Thanh Dien commune, Chau Thanh district (Tay Ninh) to find him but could not find him. They also could not reach Ms. T. by phone.
Discovering that the girl N. (7 years old, daughter of Ms. T.) was at home, the two came up with the idea of kidnapping the girl to pressure Ms. T. to pay money. Hoa and Lan deceived Ms. T.'s father, lured the girl into the car with the excuse of taking her to buy milk tea, then drove the girl away from the locality, intending to take her to Vinh Long.
At around 4:25 p.m. the same day, Long An Provincial Police coordinated with functional forces to set up a checkpoint and arrested the two subjects while they were moving through Thanh Duc Commune. The child was rescued safely.
The two subjects are being detained to be handed over to Tay Ninh Provincial Police for further investigation and handling according to their authority. Baby N. has been taken for a health check by the authorities, and is currently in stable condition, awaiting handover to her family.
