Arrested a person who specializes in hacking Facebook to commit fraud, confiscated 10 savings books
After hacking Facebook accounts to commit fraud, Nguyen Van Duc created 10 savings books to hide his assets.
On March 22, Da Nang City Police said that the Criminal Police Department had just cracked down on a fraud case involving hacking Facebook accounts, arresting Nguyen Van Duc (31 years old, residing in Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province).
Previously, on March 14, the police received information from Ms. Vu Thi T. (born in 1966, residing in An Hai Nam ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city) about her daughter-in-law living abroad having her Facebook account hacked by an unknown person.

This subject impersonated Ms. T's daughter-in-law and texted her saying that he was providing a money transfer service to Vietnam for overseas Vietnamese. This person asked Ms. T. to transfer money to a customer's relative, then the customer would transfer the money back to Ms. T's daughter-in-law.
Because of trust, Ms. T. transferred 490 million VND to the account number provided by the subject.
During the investigation, the police identified Nguyen Van Duc as the suspect.

Through investigation, Duc confessed to using computer technology to hack Facebook and take over the account. Duc then impersonated the account owner to contact and text relatives, friends, and acquaintances in the contact list, informing them that he was providing money transfer services... to "set a trap" and appropriate property.
To make it difficult for the police to track him down, Duc used game accounts to receive fraudulent money.
Police seized 6 mobile phones of various types, 154 million VND in cash, and 10 savings books worth 1.3 billion VND from Germany.
