Earlier, late on July 12th, the task force of the Dong Giang Commune Police received a report to handle a case involving K' Van Phuoc (47 years old, residing in Hamlet 5, Village 1, Dong Giang Commune) who had assaulted his wife and child at home.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, K' Van Phuoc cursed, threatened the task force with a knife, and barricaded himself inside the house with his two young children.

After more than two hours of unsuccessful persuasion and negotiation, at around 1:00 AM on July 13th, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quoc Hiep approached the scene to assess the situation when the suspect fired a homemade gun from inside the house, piercing his right lower back.

Lieutenant Colonel Hiep was promptly taken to Binh Thuan General Hospital by his colleagues for emergency treatment. He is now out of danger and is continuing to be monitored and treated.

Given the extremely serious nature of the incident, Major General Truong Minh Duong - Director of the Provincial Police - directly instructed the Criminal Police Department, the Investigation Police Office, and the Mobile Police Department to urgently coordinate with the Dong Giang Commune Police to implement professional measures to subdue and arrest K' Van Phuoc in an emergency situation.

At 5:20 AM on the same day, law enforcement successfully apprehended K' Van Phuoc and proceeded to record a report of the crime in flagrante delicto for the act of "Resisting a public official." Simultaneously, they seized related evidence including: 2 guns, 6 spent cartridges, 6 bullets, and 1 black laser scope.

On the afternoon of July 13th, a delegation from the Lam Dong Provincial Police, led by Colonel Tran Van Muoi - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, visited and encouraged Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quoc Hiep, who is currently receiving treatment at Binh Thuan General Hospital.
