Couple arrested urgently for abusing 2-year-old child.
Truc and Chon lived together as husband and wife and had repeatedly beaten the child with a bamboo stick. On May 2nd alone, the child was beaten multiple times on the legs, back, and head.

On May 5th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency announced that it had issued an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (born in 1993) and Danh Chon (born in 1996), both residing in Hoa Hiep commune, Ho Chi Minh City, to investigate their alleged "intentional infliction of injury."
Earlier, on the afternoon of May 2nd, the Hoa Hiep commune police received a report from residents about a woman beating her young child at a rented house in Phu Lam hamlet.
When the authorities arrived, NGK (born in 2024, Truc's biological child) was in critical condition, with numerous bruises and scratches all over her body, a laceration on her head, and was drowsy and unresponsive.
The victim was taken to a local medical facility for emergency treatment, and then transferred to Children's Hospital 1 for further treatment.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's leadership directed the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with the Hoa Hiep Commune Police to promptly verify and clarify the incident.

Initial investigations determined that Truc and Chon lived together as husband and wife and had repeatedly beaten the child with a bamboo stick.
On May 2nd alone, the child was beaten multiple times on the legs, back, and head. Despite discovering the victim was bleeding, the perpetrators did not take her to the hospital for timely treatment.
According to the initial diagnosis, K. suffered multiple severe injuries, including signs of acute kidney injury, a fractured arm, and numerous other injuries to her body. These signs suggest the victim may have been subjected to prolonged abuse, resulting in particularly serious consequences.
Currently, authorities are continuing to monitor the child's health and are consolidating evidence to strictly prosecute the perpetrators in accordance with the law.
