Male student arrested, 40 video clips of female students bathing seized.
On April 26, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Can Tho City Police arrested Duong Ho Vu (born in 1997, residing at Trung Thanh Hamlet, Vinh Thanh Commune, Chau Thanh District, An Giang Province; temporarily residing at Area 3, An Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) on charges of "extortion".
During a search of the suspect, authorities seized one ATM card, one student ID card, and three mobile phones, including an iPhone 4 containing approximately 40 video clips of female students bathing.
In early April, the Can Tho City police received complaints from several female students who had been filmed while bathing by an individual. The suspect repeatedly messaged the victims via phone or social media platforms like Facebook and Zalo, demanding money be transferred to his bank account; otherwise, he threatened to منتشر and upload the video clips online.

Depending on their field of study, each victim transferred between 1.5 million and 6 million VND. Following a swift investigation, detectives apprehended Vu. At the police station, Vu confessed to participating in a national defense education course with many other students organized by the school in Hoa An area (Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province). Knowing the daily routines of the female students after class, Vu sneaked into their rooms and placed a phone in the bathroom to record them.

At the police station, Vu confessed to filming 17 female students while they were showering.
