On the morning of August 22nd, the Vinh City Police (Nghe An province) announced the arrest of Ta Thi Tuyet (born in 1959), residing in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh City; Luu Viet Ben (born in 1980), residing in Nghia Tien commune, Nghia Dan district; Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1989), residing in Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town; and Nguyen Viet Dan (born in 1991), residing in Quynh Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, for the offenses of humiliating others and robbery.

During the investigation, the police clarified that Ta Thi Tuyet had previously suspected her husband of having a romantic relationship with Dam Thi Thuy (born in 1997, residing in Nghia Dan district), who is currently temporarily residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City.
On August 10th, Tuyet contacted Luu Viet Ben, hiring him for 3,000,000 dong (three million dong) to assault Ms. Thuy by cutting her hair, tearing her clothes, and recording a video. Ben agreed to the "contract" and then enlisted Nguyen Van Tuan and Nguyen Viet Dan to help carry it out.
On August 11th, the group took a taxi to Vinh City to meet Ms. Tuyet. There, Ms. Tuyet instructed them: "The three of you go to her rented room, beat her up, cut her hair, tear her clothes, take photos and record videos. Kick her until she miscarries, take her phone, and I'll pay you 3,000,000 dong." Afterwards, Ms. Tuyet gave Ben 1,300,000 dong (one million three hundred thousand dong) as an advance.

On August 11th, Ben's group went to Thuy's room. Initially, Tuan and Dan knocked on the door. When Thuy opened it, Tuan and Ben went inside while Dan stood outside as a lookout. Inside, when Thuy was holding her Nokia 1208 phone to make a call, Tuan snatched it. Tuan then took an iPhone 5 and gave it to Ben to keep. Tuan slapped Thuy in the face, while Dan went to the kitchen to get a pair of scissors and cut Thuy's hair. Tuan then used Ben's phone to take pictures...
After committing the act, all three left the scene, took a taxi to meet Ms. Tuyet, and showed her the photos and the blue Nokia phone, claiming it was the phone they had stolen from Ms. Thuy.
Ms. Tuyet then gave Ben an additional 1,000,000 dong (one million dong), promising to pay the remaining amount according to the contract at another time. After that, all three left Ms. Tuyet's house. On the way home, Ben threw the iPhone 5 into the river, but kept the Nokia 1208 for his own use.

On August 20th, investigators arrested Luu Viet Ben, Nguyen Van Tuan, and Nguyen Viet Dan. A day later, Ta Thi Tuyet was arrested urgently. At the police station, the suspects initially admitted to their crimes.
The investigating agency also determined that the victim was five months pregnant when she was humiliated and had her phone stolen by Ben's group, but the incident did not affect the fetus.
The case continues to be handled by the Vinh City Police.
