According to police records, Nam works as a photographer, specializing in taking photos for hire at home. Because she knew Nam, Ms. Nguyen Thi H., from Song Ma district, went to Nam's house to have her ID photo taken.
While Ms. H was changing clothes, she was recorded by Nam's home security camera. Afterward, Nam edited this sensitive footage, combining it with images from a motel room, to blackmail her.
To carry out the act, Nam created a fake Facebook account and then sent these images to Ms. H. Nam threatened that if Ms. H did not give him money, he would send these images to the victim's relatives and post them online. Fearing for her safety, Ms. H agreed to transfer 12 million VND to Nam and reported him to the Song Ma District Police, leading to his arrest.
