Police arrest male student for beating classmate and causing head injury.
Nguyen Ba Thuan, a student in class 11A5 at Lang Chanh High School, was arrested on murder charges nearly two months after assaulting a fellow student.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bay, the principal of Lang Chanh High School, said that Thuan was arrested on March 5th while attending school.

Earlier, at around 11:30 AM on January 14th, after morning classes ended, Pham Thanh Lam, a student in class 11A6 at Lang Chanh High School, was riding his bike towards the school gate when Thuan struck him directly on the head with an iron rod.
Doctors determined that Lam suffered a skull fracture and brain edema... The student is out of critical condition but will need a long time to recover. The injury assessment results show that Lam suffered a 49% loss of health.
According to Nguyen Dinh Bay, the principal of Lang Chanh High School, Lam, who is the class president of 11A6, had previously warned a classmate who was a close friend of Thuan.
The conflict prompted the homeroom teacher and the school to invite the students and their parent representatives to a meeting, where they were asked to write a report and pledge not to repeat the offense. The following day, Thuan unexpectedly committed the crime.
