Young man arrested for breaking into 2 ATMs to steal money
Thai Hoa Town Police (Nghe An) said that the unit has just issued an Emergency Detention Order for Ho Viet Anh for breaking into an ATM to steal property.
Previously, at 8:00 a.m. on November 2, 2024, Thai Hoa Town Police received a report from Sacombank and Vietcombank, Thai Hoa Branch, located in Hoa Hieu Ward, Thai Hoa Town, about 2 bank ATMs being broken into by thieves.

Upon receiving the news, Thai Hoa Town Police quickly arrived at the scene, took witness statements, examined the scene, and extracted cameras from the ATM and nearby systems to investigate.tracking suspects.
Through security camera extraction, the Thai Hoa town police task force determined that at around 1:30 a.m. on November 2, 2024, a male subject, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, covering his face, driving a Honda Future motorbike, went to the ATM of Sacombank and used a sharp object (suspected to be a knife) to break in. The subject then moved and continued to perform the above acts at the ATM of Vietcombank, but was unable to take any money.
In just one day of investigation, verification, synchronous use of professional measures and tracking the traces left by the subject at the scene, at 11:00 a.m. on November 3, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Hoa Town Police issued an Emergency Detention Order for Ho Viet Anh (born 2001), residing in Nghia Thinh Commune, Nghia Dan District, for the act of breaking into the above 2 ATMs, and at the same time seized 1 motorbike, 1 sword and a number of other objects and documents related to the case.
At the investigation agency, Ho Viet Anh confessed that due to his passion for gambling and lack of money to spend, he broke into an ATM to steal money. The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by Thai Hoa Town Police.
