20-year-old suspect arrested for stabbing pawn shop owner 32 times

After many days on the run, Vo Van Hoang was arrested by Dong Nai police and initially Hoang confessed to stabbing Nguyen Thi Nhung to death to rob her.

On August 15, the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Dong Nai Police announced that it had arrested suspect Vo Van Hoang (20 years old, from Kien Giang) to investigate the act of murder and robbery.

Previously, on the evening of August 9, Mr. Vo Viet Dung (47 years old, owner of a pawnshop in Hamlet 2, Long Tho Commune, Nhon Trach District) came home drunk and was shocked to discover Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung (42 years old, Mr. Dung's wife) lying dead on the floor with blood stains all over the room.

Mr. Dung called out to the people and called the local authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the police force quickly arrived at the scene to conduct an autopsy and investigate the incident. The autopsy results showed that Ms. Nhung was stabbed a total of 32 times in the abdomen, chest, shoulder and arm, leading to her death. The scene showed signs of disturbance, with some money scattered around the house.

In addition, a check in the victim's house found a motorbike that belonged to a customer.

From this clue, at noon on August 14, the police force arrested Hoang while he was hiding in a rented room in Hamlet 5, Hiep Phuoc Commune, Nhon Trach District. At the police headquarters, the suspect confessed that he was the one who killed Nhung and robbed her.
