Suspect arrested for carrying 7,400 drug pills hiding in restaurant
When the border guards raided, one of the two was restrained along with a backpack. The backpack contained 37 blue plastic bags containing 7,400 synthetic drug pills.
On May 6, the Quang Tri Border Guard Command confirmed that the unit had just discovered a suspect carrying 7,400 synthetic drug pills from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

Previously, at around 7:00 p.m. on May 5, the Anti-Drug and Crime Task Force coordinated with the special reconnaissance team (under the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) to patrol the Vietnam-Laos border area and discovered two people riding a motorbike from Laos to Vietnam.
Seeing the border guards, the two men sped up and ran towards Lao Bao town and ran into a restaurant to hide.
When the border guards raided, one of the two was restrained along with a backpack. The backpack contained 37 blue plastic bags containing 7,400 synthetic drug pills.

At the investigation agency, this person confessed to being Tran Cong Chinh (40 years old, residing in Son Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province). Mr. Chinh admitted to buying the above drugs from Tha Khec (Laos), then transporting them to Vietnam for consumption.
