Surprising lineup for V.League 2019 as selected by VPF.
(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the V.League 2019 organizing committee announced the ideal team of the season. Song Lam Nghe An Club had only one representative, goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh, HAGL had two representatives, and defending champion Hanoi dominated with four players.
Goalkeeper: Tran Nguyen Manh (SLNA)
In the 2019 V.League season, SLNA boasted the best defense, conceding only 26 goals. This achievement by the Nghe An team was largely thanks to goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh. Throughout the season, despite facing difficulties due to past injuries, Nguyen Manh started a total of 23 matches, keeping 11 clean sheets. Unfortunately, injuries forced Nguyen Manh to retire from the national team.

Left-back: Doan Van Hau (Hanoi FC)
In the 2019 season, Doan Van Hau played 21 matches for Hanoi FC before moving to Heerenveen in the Netherlands. With consistent performance on the left wing for the capital city team, the young player born in 1999 surpassed Nguyen Cong Thanh of Ho Chi Minh City FC to be included in the ideal team. Although he didn't win any titles with Hanoi FC, his contributions to the team were immense.

Center-back: Bui Tien Dung (Viettel)
The VPF's Team of the Season differs significantly from the choices of Fox Sports and Goal Vietnam magazine. Specifically, the center-back position went to Bui Tien Dung of Viettel instead of Damir Memovic of SLNA. The Viettel captain has had a fairly consistent season with 24 appearances and 3 goals. Their 6th place finish in the league table is also a relatively positive result.

Center-back: Nguyen Huu Tuan (Ho Chi Minh City)
Central defender Nguyen Huu Tuan had an incredibly memorable season with Ho Chi Minh City FC. He was a key player in the club's defense, making 25 appearances and scoring 1 goal. His impressive performance in the 2019 V.League season earned him a place in several recent training camps with the Vietnamese national team. This season, Ho Chi Minh City FC had a very solid defense, conceding only 29 goals. It can be said that Huu Tuan surpassed Duy Manh, Ngoc Hai, and Tien Dung to rightfully earn a spot in the list of the 11 best players in the 2019 V.League.

Right-back: Ho Tan Tai (Binh Duong FC)
At right-back, Ho Tan Tai surpassed Tran Van Kien of Hanoi FC to make it into the list of the 11 best players. This season, Binh Duong finished 4th overall, and the U22 Vietnam national team player made a significant contribution. The player born in 1997 played 22 matches and scored 2 goals. Tan Tai is also the only representative of the Binh Duong team in the ideal lineup.

Midfielder: Mac Hong Quan (Than Quang Ninh)
Mac Hong Quan had an incredibly explosive season with Than Quang Ninh. Not only did he excel in controlling the midfield, but the 1992-born midfielder also scored 9 goals for his team in the V.League, making a significant contribution to their bronze medal win. Although he was called up by coach Park Hang-seo for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, he unfortunately suffered an injury.

Midfielder: Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi FC)
This season, Do Hung Dung made a total of 24 appearances in the V.League 2019 and scored 3 goals. However, the title of best central midfielder in the V.League 2019 belongs to his teammate, Nguyen Quang Hai. The Vietnam national team player played 24 matches and scored 8 goals. The impressive performance of the player born in 1997 in the second half of the season was the decisive factor in his inclusion in this list.

Midfielder: Nguyen Van Toan (HAGL)
Nguyen Van Toan is the leading figure in the HAGL squad. Although the team from the mountainous region didn't achieve a high ranking in the V.League, the striker born in 1996 had an impressive season. He played in all of HAGL's matches, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists. Many believe Van Toan deserved to be named the best player of the 2019 V.League.

Midfielder: Nguyen Van Quyet (Hanoi FC)
Throughout the first half of the season, Van Quyet was unable to show much due to injury. However, the Hanoi FC captain has been playing exceptionally well since the second half. His cunning and experience are qualities Van Quyet always possesses. Throughout the season, despite only playing 15 matches, Van Quyet scored 9 goals. Unfortunately, the best player of V.League 2019 was not included in coach Park Hang-seo's plans for the Vietnamese national team's recent matches.

Forward: Pape Omar Faye (Hanoi FC)
Striker Pape Omar Faye had a successful season with Hanoi FC. He was the main attacking threat for the capital city team, with the Senegalese forward scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists this season, contributing to Hanoi's V.League 2019 championship.

Forward: Tran Minh Vuong (HAGL)
It wasn't Bruno Cunha of Viettel, but Tran Minh Vuong who made the V.League 2019 Team of the Season. Minh Vuong's performance this season was extremely impressive with 12 goals in 25 matches. Unfortunately, that performance didn't earn him a call-up to the Vietnam national team by coach Park Hang-seo for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
