Arrested a group of people who beat the driver and smashed the car

Today (March 23), the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department arrested a group of people led by Thai Kiet Huy (41 years old, residing in District 10) to investigate and handle the acts of "Disturbing public order" and "Property destruction".

Previously, in mid-March, a clip spread on social media about a group of people blocking a car, then smashing it, cursing at, and chasing and beating the driver.

According to the investigation, at around 11:30 p.m. on March 10, Mr. TVT (28 years old, from Binh Thuan) drove a technology taxi on Le Van Duyet Street, from Cau Bong to Phan Dang Luu (Ward 1, Binh Thanh District).

Because he was in a hurry, Mr. T. suddenly turned off the roadside, causing Huy's motorbike carrying a woman named M. behind him to brake suddenly, causing him to fall onto the road. Huy and M. then chased after him and asked Mr. T. to get off the motorbike to talk.

When reaching the intersection of Le Van Duyet - Phan Dang Luu, Mr. T's car stopped at a red light, Huy and M. cursed and insulted Mr. T. The two sides argued loudly.

A group of friends and relatives of Huy and M. happened to pass by and saw the incident, so they joined in cursing and smashing Mr. Th.'s car, damaging the rearview mirror.

Mr. Th. reacted and used his phone to record the incident, but was chased and beaten by the group.

When passersby tried to stop them, the subjects got in their car and drove away. The male taxi driver went to the police station in Ward 1, Binh Thanh district to report the incident immediately.

Through investigation, the police arrested Huy and his accomplices and are assessing the value of damaged property to have a basis for handling according to legal regulations.
