(Baonghean.vn) - Seeing cattle roaming freely in Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong district), three individuals stole them, slaughtered them, and divided the meat among themselves.

On August 17th, the police in Tuong Duong district announced that they are currently holding three individuals in custody on charges of "theft of property".

Previously, on August 13, 2021, the Tuong Duong District Police received a complaint from Ms. Lo Thi Xy La (born in 1980), residing in Chon village, Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong district), regarding the theft of a cow from her family, valued at approximately 7 million VND. Ms. Xy La's family was victims of theft.catching cattle thievesThis has caused a great deal of panic among the villagers, because for people in the highlands, buffaloes and cows are valuable assets.

Immediately after receiving the complaint, the Tuong Duong District Police conducted an investigation and verification, and arrested three suspects: Moong Van Linh (born in 1955), residing in Pieng Luong village, Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district; Luong Cong Huynh (born in 1980) and Luong Van May (born in 1992), both residing in Chon village, Xieng My commune, Tuong Duong district.

At the police station, the suspects confessed that while working in the fields, they saw an unattended cow and, thinking it was "ownerless," the three of them conspired to steal it.They catch thieves and kill them for meat.Divide it among yourselves.

Currently, the Tuong Duong District Police are continuing to hold the three suspects in custody for further processing according to the law.

People in mountainous areas often let their buffaloes and cows graze in the fields day after day without supervision. This creates favorable conditions for cattle thieves to increase their activity. Therefore, the police recommend that people regularly visit their fields, check their livestock and poultry, and limit letting them roam freely. If theft occurs, they should immediately report it to the police so that the perpetrators can be apprehended promptly.
