Authorities arrest group of people who entered the forest to threaten officials and steal illegally logged timber.
Upon learning that a large quantity of illegally logged timber had been seized by authorities at the forest ranger station, a group of people entered the forest to threaten the officers with the intention of stealing back the timber.
On the morning of August 26th, the police of Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, announced that they had apprehended a group of robbers to investigate their involvement in the theft of timber at the Khe Da Mai forest protection station in Hung Trach commune (Bo Trach district).

The arrested group includes: Hoang Van Ha (26 years old), Hoang Van Nam (27 years old), Hoang Van Thuc (25 years old), Hoang Van Hieu (31 years old), and Hoang Van Luc, all residing in Hung Trach commune, Bo Trach district.
Earlier, at around 8:20 PM on August 22nd, upon learning that a large quantity of illegally felled timber had been discovered by authorities at the Khe Da Mai forest protection station, the group of individuals discussed the matter and then conspired to steal the timber from the forest.
Here, the suspects threatened the forest rangers, then snatched three pieces of mahogany wood (Group VIII) and fled. Authorities quickly launched an investigation and pursued the reckless group.
At the police station, the suspects admitted to their crimes. Authorities in Bo Trach district are currently expanding their investigation into the case.
