Female DJ and her boyfriend arrested for stealing billions of dong worth of assets.
The female DJ and her boyfriend admitted to committing numerous thefts of valuable property.
On May 23, the Investigation Police Department of Thu Duc City issued a decision to prosecute and execute an arrest warrant for two suspects: Nguyen Van Tuyen (33 years old, from Hai Duong) and Nguyen Ngoc Thuong (28 years old, from Quang Ninh) for the crime of "Theft of property"
Reportedly, Tuyen has three previous convictions and was released from prison a few months ago. Thuong works as a DJ at various entertainment venues and cafes in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to initial information, Tuyến and Thương conspired to steal property because they needed money for expenses.
Recently, Tuyen broke into a house in Hiep Phu ward, Thu Duc city, to steal property. Meanwhile, Thuong sat at a nearby cafe keeping watch, waiting for her boyfriend to finish the crime before driving him away to escape.
When Tuyen stole two phones, he was discovered by the people inside the house, who shouted for help. At that moment, Tuyen quickly climbed onto the balcony to escape, hid on the roof of a nearby house, and called Thuong to come pick him up.
Upon receiving the report, local police arrived to search for the thief. As Thuong arrived to pick up Tuyen, she was spotted and arrested by the police.
Through questioning, Tuyen and Thuong admitted that in the past few months they had committed two thefts of assets worth billions of VND in Hiep Phu ward.
Specifically, at the end of January 2024, Tuyen broke into a house and stole 40 million VND, several mobile phones, and a laptop.
At the end of February, Tuyen broke into another house and stole a large amount of property including: 300 million VND, 1,000 USD, 500 Euros, 6 ounces of 18K gold, 1 ounce of 9999 gold, 1 SJC gold bar, and 2 iPhones.
In these robberies, Tuyen directly committed the crimes, while Thuong acted as a lookout, drove her boyfriend to safety, and handled the sale of the stolen property.
Both also admitted to committing several other thefts, stealing gold, foreign currency, designer watches, and other valuables.
The Thu Duc City Police are currently expanding their investigation.
