Specifically, at kilometer 85+680 in the Kẻ Lè slope area, along National Highway 48 in Châu Hội commune, district...Quy ChauThe area suffered severe landslides starting in October 2023. Earth and rocks cascaded down from the mountain, blocking traffic for over 200 meters. The traffic management unit has only managed to temporarily restore traffic flow in the first phase.

In response to this situation, in early January 2023, the Vietnam Road Administration authorized the traffic management unit to implement landslide prevention measures by leveling the mountainside and lowering the elevation by over 30 meters over a length of more than 200 meters in this area. To date, the traffic management unit has mobilized 3 excavators and transport vehicles to urgently carry out the construction, and has already completed over 50% of the work.

According to the plan, after the mountain leveling and elevation reduction are completed, a gabion retaining wall of over 200 meters will be constructed, and the damaged railings will be repaired. It is expected that by January 30th, the landslide at Ke Le slope will be completed, ensuring traffic safety for people and vehicles passing through the area.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung, Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Quy Chau District, said: "The district has 5 landslide-prone areas that threaten the safety of road users, and these have only been temporarily addressed. In the long term, the State needs to provide funding to promptly resolve the issue and ensure the safety of the people."
