Caught red-handed, detained a commune justice official receiving money from the people.

On April 25, 2022, Dien Chau District Police (Nghe An Province) said that the unit is temporarily detaining Ta Xuan Ngoc for the act of abusing his position and power while performing official duties.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Dien Chau District Police conducted a survey of 20/37 communes and towns in the district about the difficulties, problems and dissatisfaction of the people.

The survey showed that many people were not satisfied with the handling of procedures at the commune justice department. In particular, there was a situation where some officials and civil servants took advantage of the lack of strictness of legal regulations and the lack of understanding of a part of the people toharassment, making it difficult for people to extort and take advantage of people when they need administrative procedures. In particular, some subjects openly ask people to pay "grease money" to quickly resolve the issue.

Faced with the above situation, Dien Chau District Police established a special project to concentrate forces and deploy synchronous professional measures to combat the subjects. During the investigation, the Special Project Team encountered some difficulties because the subjects were experienced people, knowledgeable about the law and had expertise related to many different fields, so they often had tricks to hide, store, destroy, and legalize documents and papers after committing the crime, making it very difficult to determine the violation.

However, with a high spirit of determination, the Task Force focused on verifying and consolidating documents and evidence to clarify the violations of the subjects; at the same time, developed a plan to arrest the subjects along with documents and evidence, especially electronic evidence, without affecting the normal operations of the agencies and organizations where the subjects are working.

After collecting and consolidating documents, evidence and determining that the time was ripe, at 9:30 a.m. on April 21, 2022, on National Highway 7A in Hamlet 5, Minh Chau Commune, Dien Chau District, Dien Chau District Police successfully broke the case. Arrested Ta Xuan Ngoc (born in 1982), residing in Minh Chau Commune, Dien Chau District - a judicial officer - civil status officer of Minh Chau Commune People's Committee for the act of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties"; confiscated 10 million VND and documents related to the application for a land use right certificate.

Conducting an urgent search of the residence and workplace of Ta Xuan Ngoc, the authorities seized 108 land use right certificates; 20 million VND; 01 computer; 01 laptop and many other related documents and evidence. Notably, after Ngoc was arrested, a number of people called and sent petitions to Dien Chau District Police to denounce the subject's violations.

Currently, Dien Chau District Police have detained criminal suspect Ta Xuan Ngoc to continue investigating and expanding the case.
